Do you have a static website or are using a content management system but can not find the right plugin to suit your business?

Do you compromise on what you would like and what you actually get?

If you answered yes to any question above, then you could increase your business productivity and efficiency by investing in a personalized PHP driven dynamic web application, tailored specifically for your requirements.

What is PHP?

PHP is an open source program language that can generate a HTML web page dynamically, Information for that page is changed according to functions and database results in the code.

What is a dynamic web application?

A business interface is constructed for access over the internet to allow authorized users to store and view live data.
This can be anything including orders, customer details, correspondences, schedules, procedures, process staging etc.
The data is stored in a database that has been tailored for your circumstances reducing the amount of information needed to be entered.

Data is separated into multiple tables that link with each other and this eliminates the need to enter reoccurring information.

Additional fields can be added to track other required information, e.g. the last time an entry was amended and by which user.

What is the process?

Access is gained over the internet using a web browser, Some pages may be for displaying none sensitive information and can be viewed directly while other pages will require a user to log in.

The Data is then added, viewed and edited using the same interface, different users can access the same information and as soon as one user modifies any content then it will be immediately accessible to any other user.

Because the information is coming from a database it can be selected very specifically for any criteria, reducing the amount of redundant information returned and can also be ordered in any way to aid viewing relevant results.

    example:
  • I want to display a list of all my customers that I performed a site survey for in the month of February.
  • After selecting the relevant reports page I would choose 'site surveys' and 'February' in preconfigured selection boxes.
  • A list of companies would be displayed with contact information and mailto hyperlinks with status of the survey process, who the survey was, payments etc.
  • I want to find all companies where the survey is not complete and so I select a criteria box and choose 'incomplete'.
  • I now want to email all surveyors that will be or who are in the process of completing the reports, I select batch email and choose 'to' - 'surveyor' and request that they complete their report whilst mail merge adds the relevant customer details and project into the specific email.
  • I could repeat the process to notify all the listed customers that the survey is still being processed and advise that the work was in hand.
  • The surveyor would log into the interface and complete and fields for the report, upload any attached documents and click on 'completed'.
  • A notification email could be sent to me from the system when a survey has been marked as completed.

The functionality is virtually limitless and everyone will have there own requirements.

    Some common functions:
  • Export all selected data to a csv or excel file.
  • Search contacts, companies, jobs for condition or search word.
  • Reports.
  • Order page content by date or name etc.
  • Batch Email.

Do I own the code?

Yes, you will have paid for what you have and you can ask a third party at any time to continue to build on the code that is in place.

What are the costs?

Although i have a rough base concept, all applications will be different due to the nature of your individual requirements, £500.00 is a rough idea of cost that will produce a functional and productive experience.
Cost for database setup and all pages are on a hourly bases of time taken.
There is no license or on going charge.
Once pages have been setup modifications can be achieved in a relatively short period of time.

Security

All content accessed over the internet is going to have a security risk, due to the bespoke nature of these applications the risk is minimized because the code is written specifically for you.
This ensures that no third party will have access to the root code and therefore is unlikely to be exploited by main stream plugin vulnerabilities.
If you have or wish to incorporate a security certificate to your site which will encrypt data transfer's then this can be accommodated without any problems.

All access is authorized at the server side using none reversible encryption for user login.

What do i do next?

You should have a think about what information you are working with and have a rough idea of a logical sequence of events.
